Melissa Tong, Co-Founder

 

 

A violinist, pianist, and vocalist with over 20 years’ experience in the music industry working with artists including Sara Bareilles, Five for Fighting, and Savion Glover, and most recently with “Ain’t Too Proud” on Broadway, Melissa is motivated to help her colleagues by her own battles with repetitive strain injuries and anxiety that nearly ended her performance career, as well as her experiences with movement and body awareness in saving it. Melissa has her 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certification, and an additional 100 hours of training in Anatomy & Movement & AcroYoga from Warrior Bridge and AcroYoga International. Melissa also studied Thai Massage at The Sunshine School in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Chris Comfort, Co-Founder

 

Chris has been a personal trainer for more than two decades and specializes in several areas of health and fitness including postural correction & post-rehab conditioning, particularly for the low-back and shoulders (through the CHEK Institute and Charles Poliquin respectively), as well as prenatal/postpartum fitness. He is an expert in exercise programming, able to manipulate exercise variables to achieve very specific strength goals, muscle size gains, and/or body fat loss. Chris is also an ergonomics consultant and Muscle Activation Techniques practitioner, which is a bodywork modality focused on correcting musculoskeletal imbalances. Some of Chris's musician clients have included Michael Stipe of R.E.M. and Cellist Sara Sant'Ambrosio of The Eroica Trio. A musician at heart, Chris has played with a number of bands, and has scored, engineered, and produced several films.
